Oh My Gosh! I'm in a dress, a short dress. I am usually a jeans kind of girl but it is too dang hot out here during the summer to wear jeans. I absolutely hate shorts so I thought I would try this dress and I am so in love with it. It hides what you want to hide and is so adorable. Since my legs rarely see the sun they are translucent. I had to pack on the sunless tanner for this dress. This dress is great if you want to hide a tummy, not too short and covers the stuff we don't want showing. It is a little see through so make sure to wear a slip that doesn't cause static cling. I originally purchased this dress for $38 on sale but then got a price adjustment when they went on sale again for $25, whoop whoop. I love a great deal so I bought the striped one also. I can't recommend this dress enough for us over 40 gals. I'm almost 41 and this dress makes me feel so good and doesn't give the appearance of trying too hard. I am also average sized with a booty and not the tightest skin. If you would prefer a little more length just order a size up. This one is a small so the dress runs big.
7 years ago I never would have had the confidence to wear a dress like this even when I was a size 6. This dress is such a symbol of how far I have come. Yes, I still have insecurities but I have overcome a great deal of them.
This June I am coming up on my 1 year post explant surgery. Healing emotionally and physically has been rough at times but I feel better and am amazed at how happy I am to have the real me back. I think something happens to you when you go through hard times. You just don't care about the little things anymore and are just happy to be alive and have another day. To be alive and well is a huge confidence boost. Just the fact that we have been given another day is something to rejoice about. The fact that my legs still work regardless of how firm they are is something to rejoice over and feel confident about.
So the next time you are in the dressing room feeling depressed about what you see. Remember what your body is capable of and that you are beautiful.
Love & Hugs,
